Welcome to Neighbourhood Planning Support, where you’ll find everything you need to know about how to develop a neighbourhood plan or neighbourhood development order and what support is available to you.
Important notices for Neighbourhood Planners
The deadline for submitting applications for grant support for this financial year (2022/2023) has now passed, so we will be unable to award any grant funding. Applications for technical support are still being accepted.
Support post March 2023
The Neighbourhood Planning Support Programme run by Locality on behalf of DLUHC commenced in April 2018. DLUHC have advised Locality that it is highly likely that funding will be made available for the continuation of support for a further year, 2023-24.
We will update you once DLUHC have confirmed this and will include details of the support available next year, so please monitor this website for further updates.
We will continue to accept applications for technical support and consider these on a rolling basis. However, please note any technical support applications received in late March will not be processed until DLUHC have confirmed continuation of the support for a further year. Once confirmation is received, submitted applications will be processed for approval by DLUHC.
We have no further information at this time and therefore we request that you do not get in touch with specific enquiries on this matter, as we will not be able to provide you with any further detail.
Important information – changes to the application process 2022/23
This year we have made some changes to the application process. Please read the below guidance carefully to understand the changes.
Once you have completed an Expression of Interest (EoI) you will now be automatically directed to the application form which you will be able to begin completing immediately. You will no longer receive an application form link overnight.
If you would like to resume your application form at a later stage, you will now need to save the form prior to closing it by providing an email address and password. Please use the same email address that you provided in your EoI and make a note of the details you save with.
Once saved, you will be sent a link to the log in page where you can access your saved application form by using the email address and password you provided when you saved.
Please note, the application form no longer automatically saves as you go. Every time you would like to leave the form to resume it later, you will need to save it again.
Please refer to the Apply section of the website when the programme is open and the Guidance Notes for full details on the changes to the process.
