Bespoke neighbourhood development order facilitation and follow up grant

This is a new element to the programme and it is running as a pilot scheme and is available during 2019-20 in the first instance.

Groups preparing a neighbourhood development order to bring forward affordable housing for sale may be eligible for bespoke facilitation and a follow up grant of up to £50,000.

The bespoke facilitation will provide you with guidance on the neighbourhood development order process and preparation. This package of support will determine if the use of a neighbourhood development order is the best option (or if there are more appropriate options by which to bring the development forward).

If a neighbourhood development order is found to be the best option, the facilitation support will help scope the work required for the preparation of the neighbourhood development order.

Only when this facilitation is complete and it is determined that you are likely to succeed with your neighbourhood development order, will you be able to apply for the neighbourhood development order housing grant.

To find out more about the support available to groups preparing neighbourhood development orders to bring forward affordable housing for sale please read ‘Bringing forward affordable homes for sale via a neighbourhood development order: ‘Grant and technical support guidance notes for neighbourhood development orders‘.

Eligibility for bespoke neighbourhood development order facilitation and follow up grant

To be eligible you must be preparing a neighbourhood development order to bring forward affordable housing for sale.

If the neighbourhood development order facilitation does determine that you are likely to be successful in the production of a neighbourhood development order you will then unlock up to the £50,000 grant support. You cannot apply for this grant until the facilitation has been successfully completed.
