Why do I need to read this guide?

This toolkit has been developed to guide the implementation, monitoring, and review of made neighbourhood plans.

What will I learn from this guide?

  • How to successfully implement your plan. This includes making effective and considered representations on planning applications and appeals.
  • How to successfully monitor your plan. This includes including monitoring how the local planning authority is making decisions on planning applications and the degree to which neighbourhood plan policies are being considered.
  • The process involved in the review and revision (update/modification) of a made neighbourhood plan.

When should I read this guide?

This guide should be read while drafting a neighbourhood plan, as it will help you think about implementation and monitoring at an early stage. It should also be read after your plan has been made.
